We have participated in commonwealth youth games bond forever school program along with seventy other schools from Pune. A very able and enthusiastic teacher, Mrs. Nalini Kadam, has conducting the program. The students prepared pictures depicting, historical events in the life of Shivaji Maharaj. These pictures were laminated on wooden mount and presented to the players of Niue. Niue was the Partner country of Shri Shivaji Preparatory Military Residential School in this program. Mr. Allen with fourteen players from Niue participating in commonweath youth games visited our school on 10-10-08. On this memorable occasion, they were given a warm welcome in maharastrian traditon, in presence of Hon. Secretary AISSMS Captain Shivaji Mahadkar and Principal P.T.Sarode. The players performed a war dance for the school community.
The students collected information about Geography, History, Sports, Culture and Environment of Niue to make a small but colourful website on Niue. The website was submitted as project to the organizers of the program. The students also painted beautiful posters to highlight the environmerntal issues faced by the world. Our creative art teacher Mr. Sandeep Gade guided the junior artists. Students wrote five extraordinary essays on topics provided by CYG.
We were invited to participitate in float procession on ninth of October. The project in charge Mrs. Nalini kadam came with an innovative idea of Eco-friendly float.The float had Rocky Mountains similar to found on the coasts of South Pacific Ocean in Niue. Using lawn we showed the green grass on the mountain. The boys draped as boys and girls in Niuwean costume on the float were very attractive. At the end of procession, our Physical Trainer Mr. N. D. Honrao displayed posters, essays and the project in an exhibition at Shiv Chhatrapati Stadium. |
