Hyderabad – Secunderabad and Sri Sailam Trip of 2008-09.

  1. The boys of Shri Shivaji Preparatory Military School (Main School) Secondary Section, Standards V and VI, were taken on a trip to Hyderabad – Secunderabad and Sri Sailam. Bhagyashri Travels Group, Pune, who were given the contract from Monday – 2nd February 2009 to 7th February 2009, organized the trip.

  2. The Objective:-  (a) To show places of historical importance, (b) to learn about nature, (c) to practically visit Dams and Museum and learn for themselves, (d) To visit the famous Ramoji Film Studio, which is considered to be the World's first biggest firm studio in Guinness Book of Records, and (e) finally to develop the qualities of living to accommodate and adjust in groups, in various conditions and situations.

  5. About the Trip:-  The boys of Std. V and VI (about 128 boys) were asked to assemble, in front of the Main Building, at 2 o'clock. The respective Class Teachers took the final count of the boys and boarded the school bus for the station. Two trips were made for the boys to be transported to the station. Around 3.15 p.m., the team from Bhagyashree Travels came to escort the boys and staff, over to platform No. 4 to board the 7031 Dn Mumbai-Hyderabad Express. The train was on right time and arrived at 16.30 p.m. sharp. The boys were already grouped, according to the reservations in the compartment and boarded accordingly. The train left the platform at 16.40 p.m. The boys settled down, as per the instructions given by the tour operators and after an overnight journey, we arrived at Hyderabad Station in the morning at 06.00 o'clock.


  6. Tuesday, Day-1 – 3rd February 2009:-  As soon as we reached the station in Hyderabad, we immediately grouped the boys and after final count, we went out to board three luxury buses to take us to our lodgings. We were put up at Guru Krupa Guest House, located about 1½ to 2 kms from station  at Bogul Cunta, Off. Tilak Road. It took us only 15 minutes to reach our destination. We sorted the boys, according to their dormitories and after a wash and breakfast of Pohe and Bread, we left for sight seeing at Hyderabad. We first visited the famous Birla Temple, in the heart of the city, opposite Reserve Bank of India Branch in Hyderabad. It is dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara. From there, we proceeded to the famous Salarjung Musuem. Salar Jung was the Prime Minister of Nizam of Hyderabad. His one-man collection in this vast Museum is fascinating. It is collection from all over the world. The boys enjoyed seeing the Egyptian Painting, Persian Painting, Chinese Painting, Glassware, Chinese Earthenware, Miniature Mughal Painting, Manuscripts, Dolls House, Weapons in Ivory, and finally the most famous Clock, where the man comes and strikes the clock. We were lucky enough to gather the boys at this end at 12 o'clock. They enjoyed the same. After 12 o'clock, we gathered the boys and boarded the bus and proceeded for lunch. The lunch was nourishing and good prepared by Rajasthani cooks.



    After lunch, we proceeded to the famous Nehru Zoological Park at 14.00 hrs. The boys enjoyed seeing the white tiger playing in water. They saw leopards, plenty of monkeys of various breeds, chimpanzees and deer. After about an hour, at the park, we gathered all the boys and boarded the bus for the famous Golconda Fort. We reached the base of the fort around 17.00hrs, hired the guides to show us and explain about the fort. The guides provided a very good and useful information to our boys, about the fort.

    Around 1800hrs we again gathered the boys and left for the famous Lumbini Park or Buddha Park, for the laser show. We are at the park at 19.00hrs The boys took their seats inside the auditorium at 19.15 p.m. to witness the famous laser show. The screen of water spray was created by fountains and laser beams were projected along with L.C.D. projector. It was accompanied to music. It was very beautiful and the boys liked the same. The history of Hyderabad city was revealed to them at the show. After the show, we collected the boys and after a final count, we proceeded to our lodgings, for our dinner. The dinner provided was equally tasty and good. After dinner, the boys called it a day.

  1. Wednesday – Day-2 – 4th February 2009:-  The boys and staff got up as usually at 6 o'clock and by 7.30, we were provided breakfast. After breakfast, we grouped the boys, according to buses and finally left for the famous Ramoji Film City. At around 8.30 a.m., after a drive for about an hour and half, we reached the film city around 10 o'clock. After parking the buses, we gathered the boys and boarded the buses of film city to take us interiors. It was only half an hour ride and we reached the entrance of the film city. The boys enjoyed the free rides in package like ferry wheel and simulator rides in space ship. Then, we proceeded to show the acrobatic and dance to the boys. The boys watched spell bound. After these shows, which were performed by the young artistes from there, we took the boys for a western stunt show.  A mock demonstration was given by artistes as dacoits  looting a bank and taking the public to ransom. It was enjoyed by our boys. After that, the boys were made to board their buses, to go around the film city. We showed them various gardens, Mogul, Brindavan, Chinese, Japanese, then forts, houses, villages, Northern and Southern, urban and rural houses, hospitals, offices, aerodromes, bus station, railway station and finally a foreign location. We are dropped at a place to visit the Kripalu Caves and walked out and boarded the bus for our lunch. The lunch was provided in the film city itself at their famous restaurant – Chanakya.

    After lunch, around to 2 o'clock, we again visited the amusement park, where the boys enjoyed the Horror House. It was worth seeing. They enjoyed the paid rides like dashing saucers, dashing cars and other rides in amusement park. The most, they enjoyed was the Rain Dance, where all including some of our staff joined and enjoyed the same. We left the place reluctantly at 17.30 hrs. when the boys knew their fun had come to an end. We reached the lodgings around 20.00 hrs for dinner. The dinner was good and enjoyed by all. After dinner, the boys rested.

  1. Thursday – Day-3 – 5th February 2009:-  The boys got up at around 6 o'clock and were ready by 7.30 a.m. After having breakfast, they boarded the bus around 8.00 a.m. and by 8.15 a.m. left for Sri Sailam – via Nagarjun Sagar Dam. We reached the dam site at around 13.00 hours, after a brief halt enroute for tea and relieving the boys. At the Nagarjun Sagar, the boys enjoyed the launch ride for about an hour, in the backwaters. It was a memorable experience for them.

    After that, we gathered the boys for lunch at 14.35 p.m. After lunch, at around 15.00 hours, we left for Sri Sailam and reached there at around 21.00 hours in the evening. We had brief halt enroute to refresh ourselves for a cup of tea. The boys were grouped in batch of four and given rooms. After they settled, the dinner was provided to them. It was slightly delayed, due to circumstances beyond their control. They had dinner, as late at 23.00 hours and called it a day.

  1. Friday – Day-4 – 6th February 2009:-   The boys got up at 6 o'clock and were ready by 7.30 a.m. After breakfast, they lined up to visit the famous Mallikjarjuneshwar Temple, which is considered to be one of twelve famous Jyotirlingas. They were at the temple premises by 8.30 a.m., but due to rush, they were delayed to have darshan of the Lord, but completed the same successfully and came out at 11 o'clock. We gave the final count at the courtyard of the temple and took the boys to their dormitories.

    After lunch, around 11.30 a.m., we boarded the bus and left Sri Sailam at 12 o'clock in the noon. We halted for tea enroute at 15.00 hrs and reached Hyderabad at around 18.00hrs in the evening. The boys were grouped and made to rest in the waiting hall. The tour operators along with staff escorted the boys around 19.45 p.m. to board the train.
    The empty rakes of the train 7032 Up Hyderabad Mumbai Express rolled on to platform No. 4 at 20.10 p.m. The boys boarded the train at 20.15 p.m. and at 20.40 hours, the train left Hyderabad Station for Pune. The boys and staff were provided packed dinner enroute by the tour operators. After a good sleep at night, the boys were awoken by our staff and the team of tour operators. The train rolled on to platform No. 3 in Pune Station at 9 o'clock on 7th February 2009, concluding our trip.



    After alighting from the train, the boys and staff, we again grouped our boys and gave the final count and confirmed, if all had alighted from the train, since it was a through train. We thanked the tour operators for their kind cooperation and good services rendered to boys and staff and bid good-bye to them. When we confirmed that the school bus was provided, we had a sigh of relief and were very happy at the kind gesture of our Management. We boarded the bus, which made two trips to bring the boys and staff back to campus. After boys had returned, we again counted and gave instructions to the boys to have a good bath and change up and take the out pass from Shri. Gaikwad Sir, before leaving the campus for periodic leave.

    We thank all the Members of the Management, in supporting us for organizing this Educational Trip, our Principal and Staff in coordinating and cooperating with us in conducting the same, the tour operators Bhagyashree Travels Group under the team leader Shri. Sandeep Ramesh Deshpande, for organizing the trip and conducting the same well and planned very successfully, their kitchen unit team for providing timely meals to our boys, without delay, most of the times and finally our Class IV employees, who had done a very good job in controlling the boys and transporting the luggages of the boys. It was a memorable trip, indeed to be cherished, for a long time to come.
