The School Session:-

In order to give accommodation for the RIMC Examination the reopening of the School was on 3rd June 2008 & concluded on 29th March 2009.

Strength:-

The section and class wise strength of the school was as follows:-

a) Secondary Section - 372 (350 boarders & 22 day boarders)

b) HSC Science - 150 (All day boarders)

c) HSC Commerce - 140 (All day boarders)

d) HSC MCVC - 120 (All day boarders)

Results:-

SSC Board result was declared on 26th June 2009 and our school pass percentage were 94.11% Master Nachiket Akhave stood first in the school with the score of 88%.

HSC Science brought a result of 77.02% Master Omkar Kawade & Abhinav Khese stood first with 79%

HSC Commerce section brought a pass results of 71.87% Miss Shameeta Sugandhi stood first scoring 79.17%

MCVC Section gave the result 92.30% Miss Laxmi Suryavanshi stood first with 68%.

Games & Sports:-

Games & Sports are a compulsory part of our curriculum. The objective of the School is not concentrating on selected teams but encouraging every student to know every game or sport and participate well in each. The regular morning PT, Yoga, Karate boxing, Horse riding, and evening games such as Football, Basket ball, Hockey, Swimming, Cricket, Horse Riding etc are a regular and daily activity.

School teams participated in Inter - School Football, Subrato Mukarji Football Tournaments and reached up to semi finals. School Hockey team & Cricket Teams reached up to semi finals in the Jr. Nehru Hockey Cup and the Vinu Mankad and C. K. Naidu cricket tournaments.

School had organized Fort Climbing Competition (Sinhagad) on account of School Platinum Jubilee celebration. Eight School teams from Pune participated in this activity. Our Sister institute SSPMS Day School stood first in this competition.

NCC:-

Regular parades and training and Annual Training Camp were conducted by all three wings of NCC. The Army & Naval Cadets attended Annual training camp at Kanhephata under the GPHQ NCC Pune.

Army, Navy & Air wing second year cadets appeared and passed the certificate 'A' examination bringing in 100% result.

Excursions / Trips:-

One day trips to various places such as Shiveneri, Sajjangad, Koyananagar, Matheran were sent during the rainy season and std X boys visited Raigad with one night halt and enjoyed with work place of the patron saint of the School, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The School trips of a week were sent in month of Feb 2009 classwise as follow:-

Std V & VI:- Hyderabad, Nagarjuna, GovalKonda & Shri Shailem

Std VII & VIII:- Bangalore, Mysore. Ooty, Shrirangapattanam

Std IX:- Kanyakumari, Madurai, Rameshwaram

All the trips were completed successfully, Students & Staff enjoyed the trips about a week. School had such a long distance trips after long time.

General Competitions:-

The school participated in carnival conducted by Shahu Chhatrapati Vidyalaya New Palace, Kolhapur in month of Dec 2008. The School team won the prizes like - First in Debate, Second in Fancy Dress & Third in Rangoli.

The Maharashtra Talent search exam, the History Talent search exam conducted by the concern department and our boys got merit certificates, Boys participated in Interschool elocution competition conducted by AISSMS Polytechnic on account of Shivajayanti Celebration and Master Rohit Kale stood first & won the gold medal. Master Omkar Jagtap secured first prize in fancy dress competition on life of Shivaji Maharaj.

Our School arranged Fort Making competition on account of Shivajayanti Celebration during the Platinum Jubilee year. All the Schools & Colleges of AISSMS had participated with great enthusiast. Shivneri, Pratapgad, Raigad, Torana, Rajgad were made of mud by the boys. In this SSPMS Boarding School made Pratapgad fort which got the first prize declared by the Judges.

Common Wealth Youth Games held in Pune at Balewadi in Oct. 2008.

There were 71 Countries who had participated in various Games & 71 School were selected for Bond forever. Our Partner country was NIUE. We participated in EVS & Green Project, preparing gift, exhibition, Float and cheering team. We also invited NIUE team to visit our School and to know each other's culture and they enjoyed visit to SSPM School especially Food of our mess.

Interhouse Competitions:-

Inter House Competitions such as elocution Prose - poetry recitation, debates, extempore, quiz, singing, dramatics were conducted throughout the year. Students gains confidence and self reliance through these competitions. Inter House PT & Drill Competitions which bring in the much needed team spirit was held on 12th Sept 2008. Prof Dr. A. S. Dalavi, Director of YCNISDA of Pune University and Col Sharma Judged the competition and declared Indore House the best in PT & Drill both & Kolhapur House Second in both. Even 'Cock House Cup' won by the Indore House. Congratulations to Indore House.

Celebrations:-

Functions and festivals were organized to keep the students in touch with our traditions and cultural heritage. Independence Day, Republic Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Chhatrapati Shahu Jayanti, Guru Poornima, Teachers Day, Ganesh Festival, Raksha Bandhan, Makar Sankranti were celebrated in the School.

This year the Annual Day and Prize giving function was held as a two day celebration. On 25th Jan 2009 it was our previllege to welcome and honour Vice Admiral R. K. Dhavan (AVSM, VSM) Commandant of NDA who was the Chief Guest. The NCC troops presented a wonderful guard of Honour which was highly appreciated by the Admiral. He expressed the hope that many Shivajians would join the NDA.

On 26th Jan 2009 it was the turn of Shri Harshawardhan Patil, Hon. Minister of Cultural, Co-operation and Parliamentary affairs, Govt. of Maharashtra, to be the Chief Guest. This was his second visit to his Alma Mater as Chief Guest. He inspired both the Shivajians and parents by an excellent talk. He was all praise for the staff of the school during his days as their strenuous and sincere efforts shaped his future and hoped and wished the present staff to follow their foot steps. He assured authorities of the School of his full support and govenment assistance in their endeavour to make SSPMS a model educational institution.

Shivjayanti celebration was on a large scale. All the institutions of AISSMS & Shivaji Maratha Society had Shivajayanti rally. At the end nearly 7 - 8 thousand students & staff were gathered here. Shri Bhai Vaidya Social reformer addressed the huge rally of the people.

School had organized fort making competition on account of Shivajayanti Celebration. Gathering enjoyed the exhibition of Fort Making. The first citizen of Pune Mayor Rajlaxmi Bhosale appreciated the Forn Making work of students.
