We enter in PLATINUM JUBLEE YEAR on 20th September 2007.After the formal opening of the school took place on 20th September 1933, the All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society has served the cause of education with Shivajian inspiritions for last seveny four years. The celebration of PLATINUM JUBLEE YEAR was inaugrated by GENERAL J.J. SINGH on 11th September in a grand function.

The performance of the students who appeared for the S.S.C and H.S.C examination held in March 2007 is given below.

TEACHERS TRAINING COURSE

The subject teachers teaching new syllabus in std. X attended orientation courses organized by S.S.C Board and Zillah Parishad .The new concepts introduced in syllabus were explained by the experts and teachers were guided in evaluating their subjects.

RESULTS OF COMPETITIVE EXAMS

1) GOVERNMENT DRAWING GRADE EXAMINATION

ELEMENTARY - 100%.

Vineet Koli received 3rd prize in memory drawing and secured 16th position in merit.

INTERMEDIATE - 100%.

2) MTS SCHOLARSHIP EXAMINATION

STD. IX - 5 students received certificate of merit.

STD. VIII - 4 students received certificate of merit.

EDUCATIONAL TOURS AND CAMPS

Following one day picnic were organized by the school.

Annual Training Camp for the year 2007-2008 of Army Troop was held at Bombay Engineering Group Dighi, Pune from 27-06-2007 to 6-7-07.

VOLLEY BALL

Staff versus students volley ball match was won by staff.

ROUTE MARCH

The students along with staff enjoyed the traditional route march on 7th march to Vetal Tekadi. The route followed was University of Pune - N.C.L- Pashan - Vetal Tekadi - Gokhale Nagar - Model Colony - School.

ELOCUTION

INTER HOUSE COMPETITION of reading and prose recitition were conducted to test the excellence of students in English, Marathi and Hindi.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Shri P.K. Kulkarni the member of Governing Council unfurled the flag to celebrate diamond jubilee year of our Independence Day on 15th August. The N.C.C cadets presented a national salute to flag and guard of honour to the Chief Guest. The selected students sang patriotic songs and expressed their thoughts about freedom of our country. The Chief Guest applauded the students for their outstanding performance and gave advice on their special role as students of military school.

INAUGURATION OF PLATINUM JUBILEE YEAR OF THE SCHOOL

General J.J. Singh Chief Of The Army Staff inaugurated Platinum Jubilee year of the school by lighting the candle and garlanding the portrait of Shivaji Maharaj. He recollected and shared his memories in pune with the audience in an inspiring speech and expressed his happiness for associating himself with the institution on this great occasion.The institution presented General an equesterian silver statue of Shivaji Maharaj. To motivate the students he presented the same to the school as a rolling trophy for the best house in the academic year. Also he presented a wrist watch to the Head Prefect of the school. Shailesh Pol, the Head Prefect of the school commanded the N.C.C. Parade.

GANESH FESTIVAL

The idol of Lord Shree Ganesha was installed in school assembly on Ganesh Chaturthi with Aarthi sung by students and teachers. Lord Ganapati was worshipped every day in the morning with prayers and prasad distributed to the school community. After two hours procession with heavy heart the idol was immersed on fifth day.

THE INTER HOUSE P.T. AND DRILL COMPETITION

The competition was held on 21st September at 8 a.m. The four Houses displayed wonderful formations in P.T. COMPETITION and were best in turn out and marching in DRILL COMPETITION. The Competition was judged by the Commandant of Bombay Engineering Group, Brigadier Vinod Kumar Bhatt

PARENTS TEACHERS ASSOCIATION MEETING

The meeting was held on 21st September in Assembly Hall. Captain Shivaji Mahadkar the secretary of AISSMS and Shri Dilip Umbarkar the Chairman Governing Council AISSMS represented the management to assure the parents quality education to their children.The dignitaries stated the vision of institution. Principal and representative’s of management made the parents aware of Platinum Jubilee Year Celebrations in the school campus.

MAHATMA GANDHI JAYANTI

Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated on 2nd October in the school Assembly Hall.The Principal garlanded the portrait of Gandhiji and the school listened to bapu’s favourite bhajan “Vaishnav jana to Tene kahiye.” Senior students spoke on different aspects of philosophy of Gandhiji. More Sir brought home the importance of values such as non-violence, compassion ,truth ,and love by referring to gandhian philosophy.
